Daraguin Island: The Legend
Daraguin is an inhabited island before two explorers found it by searching in a vast ocean with their handmade boat. When they landed, the first thing they do is build their own house. They gathered twigs and logs; they made progress by tying them. However, when they came back from another scavenge, someone is already there inspecting what they have done. The mysterious man has odd clothes, describing it as alive that have its own movement. Despite the terrifying appearance, the man helped them build the house and stayed with them through the night.
The explorers were curious so they questioned how did the man get on the island. The man told them that he used a vehicle like them, but it is not on the water but on land. The explorers wanted to see it but the man said that they should not because it is dark and dangerous. The man showed a glowing item with colors engraved on them, he suggested playing while they wait for sunrise. The younger explorer got invested in using the item that he did not notice the man fell asleep. The sun came but the man is still not waking up so the older explorer got impatient and looked at his pockets for a map. He stole it and find the man's transportation.
The man woke up late, he was furious and asked the remaining explorer where is the other one. The young explorer has no idea so the man dragged him so suddenly that they are in front of his vehicle. Its shape is like a giant ball standing in the middle of the forest. The man touched it and turned it into dust, revealing the older explorer and the item he stole. The man retrieved his item from the two explorers and destroy it like he did in his transportation.
He scolded the explorers for stealing and using his vehicle without his permission. To their surprise, the man also apologized as well for bursting his frustration on them. So as a gift, he handed them a box of goods for letting him stay with them. The box came out from nowhere but before they could ask how the man did it, he opened an image of a room out of thin air, went inside, and was seemingly consumed by the place.
The explorers concluded that the man is the guardian of the island that prevents mischief from happening. Thus, they named the place Daraguin which means "guardian" in the Caltuang language.
