Bottle of Stories (59)

Annie bawled her fist to prevent it from trembling. "I don't want to. I've heard enough."
Jayson did the opposite. He calmly walked towards the Guardian of Dreams. "I trust your ability to manipulate dreams. You... showed me what my twin looks like."
"I can assure you she is still alive."
"We'll never know. But... Thanks, I guess." Jayson reached his hand.
The mysterious man tightened his grip to Jayson when it immediately fell asleep to where it was standing. He removed his cloak and covered it to the kid. He sat down in a soil full of leaves and put Jayson above his legs. He did not remove his grip in its hand and using his available hand, he gently combed its silky hair.

Annie eagerly tapped the person beside him. "Rey wake up! Jayson is in trouble."
"Nothing will happen to him as long as I'm holding his hand. I control his dream and I can wake him up whenever I want to. As for your other companion, he is not dreaming for now. Don't wake him up or he will fall asleep again."
"What have you done?"
"I did nothing, it is just how it goes. You just happened to wake up earlier than him."
Annie could do nothing but wait. Minutes had passed and the guardian started a conversation to her.
"Do you want to dream about Leil again?"
"No." She hugged her knees. "I will wait no matter how long it takes."
"You don't trust me. Just like this kid."
"You know a lot. I'm scared of your knowledge. Is everything going according to your plan? That's what I thought."
"Why do you say so?"
Annie bit her lip. She felt the urge to say the truth because she doesn't want to fall on the ground, sleeping again. "Like the wind, your voice seems calm. But... Like this place, you are mysterious. What's going in this place? Why are you hiding your face? There are no other people here to tell us the history of this world. I can't see your expression so I can choose whether to trust you or not."
"Then I will remove the cover of my face for you."
And he did. He revealed his fine-looking face but his bluish skin made him look like a ghost. His heavy eyes are complemented by purple eyes.
She was mesmerized on his eyes that she immediately falls asleep for looking at it for too long.
She woke up only to realize that Rey was still sleeping. But Jayson was there sitting beside her. He yawned but stopped midway when he realized that she was looking at him. She stood up and wipe off the leaves on her clothes.
The guardian of dreams approached her. He is now wearing his cloak and the headwear where the fabric is kneaded. Using the fabric of his cloak he covered his right hand. He put the cap above it and reach his hand to Annie. "You can now go home once your companion is awake."
She picked up the cap from him. Now she realized that he's hiding his face and his skin to prevent them from falling asleep through sight and touch. He is really the guardian of dreams. His abilities are both powerful and inconvenient to him.
"Annie, I'm already finished." He was standing. He wiped his sweat using a towel that is just lying on top of the sofa.
Annie sat down on the sofa. "Did we do the right thing? Not telling Rey the truth?"
"We already told him what he needs to know. If he knew the whole story, he will become rash to his decision."
"Then what did you dream about that made you in favor with the guardian of dreams?"
"I will change my clothes first. After that, I will tell you what happened."
