Bottle of Stories (74)

Morning came as bright as the days without her problems. The lack of green scenery saddens Lealyn but she cannot do anything about it. The urban streets do not match up with the light blue sky and it made the world duller. She sighed on the window and glanced back at Kid. "I do not want to be here, can we go somewhere comfortable?"

"I know what you are thinking. That's why while you are asleep, I manage to find a place that suits your taste." He pointed at the door which he made a passage to a riverside house.

They proceeded to go there and investigate the area. The wooden house is surrounded by tall trees and some houses can be seen from a distance. The river reflected the color of the trees. The sound of the leaves brushing and water flowing gives off a relaxing vibe for the group.

It is better than what Lealyn expected. But it does not change the fact that Kid is also the reason why her parents are gone.

Jayson touched the river to check if his hand will get wet.

"Hey, do not forget," said Guardian of Dreams.

"What?" asked Jayson.

"This is a dream."

"Oh," how long has it been for Jayson? It seems everything is real that he almost forgot the reason why he is here with the Guardian of Dreams.

The truth. However, the guardian changed from friendly to cold. Guardian of Dreams told him that he should not make a deal to any guardians before he completely changed his attitude.

"Do you remember what you told me before? That I should not..."

"Forget it. I did not mean to say that."

"Why? Is it because you guardians give more problems than actually solving one?" Jayson glanced at the house where Kid and Lealyn went inside. "Just like what happened to Lealyn?"

"No, the living cause more problems to the guardian. Do you see what happened to Kid? Lealyn despised him even though he gave everything he can to help and please her. He even forgave her, and now he wants to protect her. You should have an idea now what will happen next."

The world started to distort just like what happened back then. Jayson heard voices; it was Lealyn's and Kid's voices.

"I know you are still angry because of what happened to your parents. So to make up to you, I will fully serve you for the rest of your life. Please accept it, Lealyn."

"And then, what do I have to do? What are the consequences or setbacks?"

"Nothing. If I fail, the consequence will be mine. You just have to accept it please, my conscience is scaring me."

"Why?"

"Do everything you want with me. Treat me harshly or nice I do not care. I just want to keep you safe."

"He did not listen!" the guardian of dreams yelled. "I keep warning him to stop to the point I have to make a move. But instead, he made a contract again!"

The guardian merged to the distortion before the vision of the surrounding fixed. Jayson was left alone. Suddenly, someone grabbed his wrist.

"Jayson, help me. Lealyn won't listen to me. We have to get away from here." Kid pointed at the house they entered a while ago.

Jayson nodded and went inside the house. The kid just followed him in his back.

"Be careful."

There was a bad smell coming and it gets stronger as they came closer to the kitchen.

"Get out," Lealyn said with a hardened tone.
