Unexpected Upgrade

I have written on my previous blog that I use a slow laptop. I am already comfortable with it even though it is a bit outdated because I have been using it for a year since online classes. Suddenly, someone brought home an old desktop from our old neighbor. That someone who is my sibling, only needs the monitor, leaving the included keyboard and CPU behind.

A little backstory, we bought a system unit for my sibling that is close to graduating from college. However, we cannot afford the monitor right now so we only bought the CPU. The original plan is my sibling will use my monitor but we get the chance to fetch our neighbor's old and unused monitor. My sibling came back with a set to our surprise because it is already inside the box when my sibling took it.

Later on, my parents decided to clean the system unit. It does not have RAM inside but we have a lot of those due to reviving our previous CPU. They added 2GB RAM on it and tested if it is going to work. And it booted!

That system unit became mine and I'm currently using it! Everything seems not true because I receive a new PC out of luck. I thought I will be able to buy or receive a faster device in the next two years because I still have a functioning laptop. I also have a smartphone bought in 2019 so if I can't do things on my laptop, I will just use my phone or borrow to my siblings' computer.

This PC is not as fast for today's standard but if you have used a laggy device for a year, this device is a great upgrade. I do rarely encounter choppy lines when drawing fast, I can listen to music without glitching sounds, I can open applications faster, almost everything is smoother. This improved my productivity when it comes to doing my assignments because I can easily find the files I need to use and watch the recorded videos of our teachers without lag. Not only that, I can also upgrade the RAM up to 8 GB if I want to make it more snappy.

I'm really grateful that there are still people who help others who can't afford one. I promised that someday I will be able to help others too like they did to us.
